Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Favorite Second Set

Right now I do believe my favorite second set is 6/9/77. Anybody else out there have any personal favorites. Everybody on this forum always has such wonderful input, I really enjoy reading the opinions and getting pointed in the direction of more brilliant music that I maybe haven't explored yet. Thank you all and hang loose.

I can't narrow it down to one (or even 10) favorite, however here are just some 2nd sets that I believe everyone should have .....

1-22-78
10-27-79
5-8-80
9-6-80
9-11-81
9-12-81
7-29-82
10-9-82

Of course this list is subjective and there are literally hundreds more sets that deserve to be on this list.

6-25-85 or 9-10-91. The Gimme Some Lovin' was apparently a surprise to open the set, and the Playin' is unreal. My Dad remembers Weir jumping from monitors during the Sunshine Daydream rave-up (which follows a HOT Sugar Mags). 9-10-91 is the famous MSG show with Branford Marsalis. The vocals are a little mangled but the sound is overall excellent on the SBD. I think these are my favorite Dead shows ever, and I've had both of them since I started to get into the Dead independently about 13 years ago. Anyone else know these ones?
